SkyDay Project
SkyDay Art Project is an art … Your group is going to create an online art gallery to engage your peers and the world in a creative conversation about one of the most important issues of our time - climate. Your team could win a chance to interview with one of NPR’s most talented journalists Sasha Ann Simons and win XXX to donate to a sustainability effort of your choice. (Info about the prizes below)
Here’s how it works. You have until now and November 30, 2022 to create and post an original artwork in response to one of these three projects:
Call and Response
Reflect on Amanda Gorman’s powerful Earthrise poem and respond with a poem of your own. Details
Become An Environmentalist Artist
Research environmentalist art and respond with an artwork of your own. Details
Witness Change
Document the dynamic sky over your community. What do you notice? What do you wonder? Details
How will you choose the winners?
Groups that successfully complete all three projects will be entered to win. SkyDay team members, led by artist and SkyDay Executive Director Ben Whitehouse, will review all qualified entries and determine which galleries in their opinion deserve the awards and which galleries deserve to be highlighted on our website and in our messaging. All decisions of the judges will be final. Teachers of the winning galleries will be notified by email the first week of December.
