Create an Airspace!

Sky Day is September 27th and this year we are asking people to create a temporary community Airspace to show the world and our leaders how many of us care about a healthy climate. No-one should underestimate the power of art to help move culture forward.

What is an Airspace? An Airspace invites people to look up at our sky and reflect on what it means to us, by posting a sky-themed photo, poem or artwork to show that it must be protected. An Airspace can be anywhere you want it to be! Outside or inside, you can post the Airspace signage and people can post their sky media online to any one of the SkyDay Project Galleries or to a special one of your choice. (Free Sky Gallery sign up here)

Why create an Airspace? Because we need to come together to show the world and our leaders that many of us care about protecting our sky for each other and future generations. After all, our sky is the one natural resource that truly connects us all.

It’s easy to make an Airspace!
(1) Print one of these signs or make your own.
(2) Choose a place where people can see the sky.
(3) Invite everyone you know to go to your Airspace and take part.

How do I let people know about my Airspace? You can promote your Airspace to friends and family by photographing it and posting it on social media with #Airspace2025. How you,but here’s a messaging idea from us:

“Please come visit our Airspace! It’s at …….. This is a special place to look up at our magnificent sky and think about all the important things a healthy climate gives us - from good food to clean air. While you are here, we hope you will feel a sense of connection to both planet and community. After all, our sky is the one natural resource that truly connects us all. Can we inspire you to mark your visit by posting a sky-themed photo, poem or artwork to the SkyDay Project Galleries?. You’ll join the many thousands of caring people who want to protect our climate for the benefit of each other and future generations!”
